The Strasburg Chief responded in his vehicle and used it as the command post.

Fourteen volunteer fire departments responded to the Sight and Sound fire committing the following resources:

25 engines
4 aerial ladder trucks
22 tankers
5 rescue squads
2 air re-fill units
2 emergency medical units

The specific departments involved were as follows:

• Lafayette
• New Danville
• Shawnee
• Eden
• Quarryville
• Willow Street
• Ronks
• Lancaster Township
• Witmer
