Broward Marine Fire - (Fort Lauderdale, Florida - September 5, 1996) » Fire Protection

There were no fire alarm, fire detection or automatic sprinkler systems installed in any of the buildings on the site. However, an on-site fire pump had been installed to supply hose reels in the manufacturing building.

The hydrant located at the intersection of Southwest 20th Street and Southwest 15th Avenue had a statis pressure of 72 psi and a residual pressure of 65 psi at a flow of 1300 gpm. This hydrant is supplied through approximately 150 feet of 12-inch under - ground pipe, which is connected to a 20-inch city water main located under Southwest 15th Avenue. This 20-inch city water main also supplied a 6-inch loop to the west, which ties back into the 20-inch water main to the south.
