Iredell County, North Carolina, is located just north of Charlotte, NC, with a land area of 574 square miles and a population of nearly 100,000. The county seat, Statesville, is located about 40 miles north of Charlotte and has a population of about twenty-one thousand people. The county is bisected by Interstate routes 77 and 40 which intersect very near the city of Statesville. The geography is rolling hills with no extremes of elevation or other prominent features.
